Several decades of consistent progress later, medical device manufacturing is one of the Dominican Republic’s most dynamic export industries, representing 25% of all Free Zone exports and a total of $1.5 Billion USD in 2018 alone. With an increasingly competitive environment for manufacturing activities, major global companies continue to turn to the Dominican Republic for establishing and expanding medical device investment projects.

To support the continued development of the medical device industry, ADOZONA and CNFZE, the governing bodies of the Free Zones, established a medical device cluster which works to advocate for the industry. The cluster has devised initiatives that have lead to great improvements for the medical device sector, including workforce training programs and value chain optimization.
