The La Vega Free Trade Zone Industrial Park is part of the network of state-owned industrial parks in the Dominican Republic, managed by the Center for Industrial Development and Competitiveness (PROINDUSTRIA), a government entity focused on strengthening, developing, and enhancing the competitiveness of the industrial and free trade zone sectors in the Dominican Republic.
This park is considered the second-largest state-owned industrial park in the country and one of the most attractive locations for investment, due to its strategic location, operational infrastructure, availability of skilled labor, and proximity to important logistics hubs in the Northern region. It currently has approximately 1,277,806.58 square feet of industrial infrastructure in operation and generates around 4,500 direct jobs, consolidating itself as an important hub for economic, productive, and social development for the province of La Vega and the entire Cibao region.
The park houses companies from different productive sectors, with operations mainly focused on manufacturing, exports, assembly, complementary services, and industrial activities under the free trade zone regime. The main activities include:
- Textile sector: approximately 55%
- Footwear manufacturing: approximately 12%
- Tobacco and cigars: approximately 11%
- Manufacturing and handling of hangers
- Cell phone assembly and activities related to the technology sector
- Packaging, complementary services, and logistics operations
- Industrial processes focused on exports
Its business dynamism, the diversity of installed productive sectors, and ongoing institutional support make it a strategic destination for national and international companies interested in operating under the free trade zone regime of Law No. 8-90, with its applicable tax and customs incentives, and with technical and institutional support from PROINDUSTRIA and an active business association that strengthens public-private coordination.
